At Mikkom, the relationships we have with our clients are at the heart of everything we do, and that means we value your trust. With the advent of the new GDPR data protection regulations, which come into effect on May 25th, we welcome the opportunity to tell you how we ensure the safety and security of your information.
What we do:
In order to provide IT services to you, we do process some staff and patient data on your behalf – such as email addresses and mobile numbers – for contacting patients as part of the service we provide to the NHS Trusts as well as internal system administration purposes. This data is known as Personally Identifiable Information (PII). We treat this responsibility very seriously and therefore take a number of steps to make sure your data is kept confidential, that its integrity is maintained, and that it is available to us to continue providing you with a first-class service.
How we protect your data:
• 100% of the PII we process is stored in data centres within the country to which the data is related – for example, UK data is stored in UK data centres and Canadian data is stored in Canadian data centres. These data centres are ISO27001 certified for Information Security Management.
• We only use recognized, industry-leading hosting partners, and market-leading suppliers for our mobile (GSM) gateways. These partners are also subject to, and abide by, the same GDPR rules as we do.
• We do not share your data with anyone other than the suppliers described above. We do not sell your data, either directly or via third parties. As we move forward, we will continue to act in our combined interests and continue to do everything reasonably possible to protect your data. Although no-one can claim to be 100% immune to data breaches, please be assured that if we identify a potential data protection issue we will take all reasonable steps to limit and correct it.
